Our Mission: No One Should Go Hungry

“No one within ten miles of an ISKCON temple should go hungry.”

What We Do Section

Serving the Community with Love and Compassion

At ISKCON Edmonton, the Food for Life Program is dedicated to serving the community through various activities that reflect our commitment to compassion, service, and spiritual nourishment. Here’s what we do:

Nourishing Those in Need

Daily Meal Distribution

We prepare and distribute hundreds of wholesome, vegetarian meals each week to individuals and families facing hunger in Edmonton. Each meal is prepared with love and offered as Prasad, providing both physical and spiritual sustenance.

Fostering Community Connection

Community Events and Festivals

Our temple hosts regular festivals and events where free Prasad is served to all attendees, creating a sense of unity and sharing the joy of Krishna’s mercy with the broader community.

Responding to Crises

Emergency Relief Efforts

During times of emergency, such as natural disasters or public health crises, we provide immediate support by delivering meals and supplies to those affected, ensuring no one goes hungry in their time of need.

Extending Our Reach

Partnerships with Local Organizations

We collaborate with local charities, food banks, and shelters to amplify our impact and ensure that our Prasad reaches as many people as possible who are in need.

The Heart of Our Program

Volunteer-Driven Service

Our program is powered by the dedication of volunteers who selflessly give their time to cook, serve, and distribute meals, embodying the spirit of bhakti (devotion) and creating a culture of service within our community.
